Moulin Rouge
I don’t know why I avoided this movie for so long. It came out back in 2001 and I never saw it.
I was missing a lot… I had the impression that it would be boring - Far from it… Being a musician I thought that the music wouldn’t be to my taste. (I’m a bit critical of lots of music) But the fact that they used popular music for the songs was entertaining after all.
Elton John, Nirvana, Madonna, The Police… Nice touch there.
A musical love story with lots of color and lights. I have to say this is the best musical I have ever seen. I think I need to run it through a second time to catch some of the subtle things I might have missed.
The Sound of Music was good when I saw it as a kid…Music from that film was included in Moulin Rouge. It brought back a few memories of watching that in my 4th grade classroom.That was one of my favorite grades growing up… When a movie brings back memories then it’s a good thing.
I enjoyed the camera work in the movie too… Lots of fast editing and quick scenes… I bet it took a long time to capture all of that and make it perfect… Hey…Check it….
